Default WinXP desktop Icon settings

In my desktop all icons are appearing with shadow in its back side
and all names of these icons are appearing in a rectangular box with
different colour than desktop.
I have adjusted "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the
Desktop" from Control Panel/System/Advanced/Performance/Settings. But this
still doesn't do the trick. And I have observed that Lock Web Items on
Desktop is un-checked by right-clicking the desktop, point to Arrange Icons.

How I can reset or change the appearence of desktop Icons.

Okay, so the first step didn't work.

Right click on desktop. Select Properties, then open Desktop tab.
Click on the Customize Desktop button, then open the Web tab.
Delete everything in the Web Pages box except, My Current Home Page.
Press OK, then Apply, and maybe OK again.
You may have to restart for settings to take effect.

No guarantees.
