We just got a new computer running 64-bit Win8.1. I have a NOD32
subscription, so I want to install that on the machine. It currently has "McAfee LiveSafe - Internet Security" running on it. I know nothing about that program, but I assume it's an anti-virus of some kind. Following ESET's instructions, I downloaded the latest NOD32 version and installed it. I didn't uninstall the McAfee product, their instructions didn't say anything about that. The machine slowed to a crawl, it was only barely possible to tell that it was doing anything at all. I gave up and uninstalled NOD32 (which took a LONG time), and the machine runs fine now. So...what is LiveSafe? Is it any good? Would the fact that both it and NOD32 are running slow the machine to a crawl, or was NOD32 interacting with something else? And is anybody successfully running NOD32 on 64-bit Win8.1? -- Tim Slattery tim at risingdove dot com |

IMO, shared by many others, you never run two AV programs, only one. You should have uninstalled McAfee first before installing ESET. If I were in your shoes, I'd uninstall McAfee and then reinstall ESET - as long as your intent on using ESET. The version of McAfee on your new computer is most likely a trial version, you'll have to pay to keep the program current. |

As previously said you should remove one or the other. If you decide on McAfee then you should check this site http://service.mcafee.com/faqdocument.aspx?id=TS101331 http://download.mcafee.com/products/...tches/MCPR.exe (One String) or http://www.techsupportall.com/mcafee-uninstall-tool/ |
