Default PC Freze Up

CS 2000 Version 7.0
Windows XP
On a number of occasions I have had PC freeze up
necessitating a manual shut down and re-boot. This
generally happens when composing e-mail but has happened on
other occasions.
Have tried several things... Cleared cookies and Temp
files. Cleared cache and rebuilt drivers. Done Scan disc,
defrag. ran virus checks, changed access numbers and all I
can think to do. De-activated Zone Alarm, Norton AV programs.
Still have the problem more frequently than I would like.
Some times, but not always, received the following information:
"One of your discs needs to be checked for consistancy.
Windows is verifying File Sys Fat 32.
Windows will check Volumn Serial # 152C-14F8.
I let this run the check and restart Windows.
Beyond this point I am lost. Your help will be appreciated.

Look for corresponding errors in the Event Viewer. Control Panel /
Performance and Maintance / Administrative / Event Viewer / Applications
and System. Jimmy

Have you eliminated heat as a source of your problem? Such as a cooling fan.

Wendy,

You are looking for red x errors that happen the same time your system
freezes happen. This is probably happening in the system events , but also
look in the app. events. Post back with complete errors , if needed. Jimmy
