Cannot view other computers on the net work.
This is a strange problem. I cannot see another computer
on my network. However, others can see and access shared resources on my computer. I'm running on Win XP, others running Win 98. We are on the same subnet and I did run the network setup disk on those computers. Anybody got idea how to make my computer to be able to view and access other sysytems? |

Be sure all computers are using the same Protocol.
XP likes to use IPX/SPX over the other choices. -- Jerry Politicians are like Diapers They both need to be changed often, And for the very same reason. "AZ" wrote in message ... Cannot view other computers on the net work.
All the computers are running TCP/IP with no Novell
IPX/SPX running at all. This is why it is kind of strange for me not be able to view other computers but they can access my computer. -----Original Message----- Be sure all computers are using the same Protocol. All I can tell you is try it.
My home network will not work without IPX/SPX. -- Jerry Politicians are like Diapers They both need to be changed often, And for the very same reason. "AZ" wrote in message ... I guess a little explanation is needed here,
TCP/IP is your Internet Provider connection, IPX/SPX is your local network connection. (the Protocol) You need both of them. -- Jerry Politicians are like Diapers They both need to be changed often, And for the very same reason. "AZ" wrote in message ...
