Default Media Player 9 after SP2 RC1

I have a system that is doing something odd. The media player is opening a browser window full of random characters when I attempt to play a .wmv file. I have tried .wmv's from several locations with the same result, any ideas?

Go to Start Run and in the Run box copy, then paste, the following:

"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\setup_wm.exe"

Then hit the Enter key to reinstall Windows Media Player.
