It appears a tiny registry change on a machine running Windows XP SP2 will
enable SP2's Concurrent Sessions for Remote Desktop. This allows more than
one user to use the machine at the same time.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Terminal
Server/Licensing Core

Create a new DWORD entry "EnableConcurrentSessions" and assign a value of 1
to it. Concurrent Sessions is now enabled.

Since XP Pro and XP Home cannot support multiple users at the same time,
unless one is sequestered on the disk, I don't see how this key (which
may have been lifted from a server edition) could possibly have any
effect on an XP Pro or Home Edition machine.

I've since read more on this issue and there are reliable reports that
this key will enable concurrent sessions with remote desktop under
certain conditions. Of course this is beta, so the feature may not
survive in its current configuration. More information will be
forthcoming at release.

Sorry for the initial bah-humbug response.
