Default slow burn

I just burned a 1minute, 7 second clip and took 4 min. 32 sec.! Just the
lead-out took 1:45; is there something wrong here? The burner is at 16x
everywhere I can see. I burn with Nero Essentials which also checks speed
and that's where I get 2x to 2.3x . Any advice? Thank you!

That is normal for most DVD burning programs. The software is doing more
than just burning files to disc, it is also encoding them, creating a menu,
etc.

Hello,

Check if the DVD drive is configured in PIO mode.

You can verify if this is the issue by seeing the symptom listed here -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817472 - if it is, then simply use the
workaround documented in the same document
