Default speaker problems

I can't get my computer to recognize my speakers. They're plugged in correctly, and I know they work, but the computer isn't recognizing them at all. Anyone know what I could do?

Computers don't recognise speakers. They do however recognise audio
chipsets/sound cards. Maybe you could install the drivers etc.

Computers don't recognise speakers - could you please clarify "can't get to
recognise...". You plug them into the sound card and set the correct number
of satellites in the sound properties.
