cannot launch executable files

I cannot launch executable files. When I try I get a dialogue bos saying
that XP does not know what to do with .exe files. It offers the option of
selecting a program to open the file or going to the nternet to find a
program. How do I fix this.

Right-click the file, properties, opens with... change, scroll to the program that
opens the executable.

Right-click the file, properties, opens with... change, scroll to the program that
opens the executable.

Right click the file you wish to open. Select OPEN WITH. Now select the
program you wish to use and tick the box at the bottom that says "always use
this program to open this file type". Usually windows should automatically
assign a program to open a file unless the program it needs is not installed
on your pc. Hope this helps.
