Default Windows Update

-----Original Message-----
We just bought a new HP Pavilion a220n. We are trying to
do a very simple task of updating Windows. We go to
Windows Update and choose Review and Install updates.
The install completes with 0% installed. No error
message displayed. We have the basic program of zone
alarm installed as well as Norton Virus protection. We
registered our Windows XP on line with MSN. We assume it
is immediate with no waiting period. However, we do not
know how to verify if it took or not.
We have called HP and they refer us to MSN and they refer
us back to HP. We are getting the run around. If this
continues we will simply take the computer back and
consider it defective.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
.

Turn off your Norton Virus protection and the Zone Alarm,
when the IE finished the downloading , do not do anything
when it was updating your system files . Try it~
