How to setup a network connection for sharing files ?
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to setup a network connection for
sharing files between window 98 (2nd Ed) and XP (SP3)? Thanks in advance for any suggestions Eric

Make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party Firewall instructions. General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted http://www.windowsnetworking.com/art.../wxpwin9x.html The Win 98 is an old page. If you have a Router with DHCP On. configure the TCP/IP to Obtain IP Automatically.
