Default Audio Lag Receiving Voice Chat

Hi,

All my problems started with recent upgrade of SP2 to my=20
XP Home edition. I have the grayed checked box and I=20
highlighted the QoS and hit the uninstall button. Window=20
came up that said I must be disconnected to uninstall. I=20
disconnected from the internet and went to control panel=20
and network connections. No ATT icon showed up as I was=20
disconnected. I have found no way to find QoS to delete=20
it from my system. The ATT icon only shows when I am=20
connected.=20
Thanks for your help,

Ron

Thanks for all your help - I tried all of the=20

suggestions=20
and had no luck in deleting QoS. This morning I sent=20
email to ATT with description of problem asking for=20

help.=20
I also try ATT on-line chat. In the meantime if you=20

come=20
up with another option please let me know. Again many=20
thanks for all your help.

Ron - With no connection to the Internet, try going=20

into Control Panel
then "Network Connections". Right click yours and=20

choose Properties. Then
choose "Networking". One of the items displayed should=20

be "QoS Packet
Scheduler". Highlight that and there should be an=20

option to uninstall.

Hi again,=20

Thank you again for the Help !! Your guidance has opened=20
the door for me to uninstall QoS - Yahoo !! I made=20
another attempt to uninstall QoS and found the same=20
condition grayed check box. I highlighted QoS Packet=20
scheduler as you instructed and hit uninstall. Window=20
came up that said "You must disconnect all dial-up, VPN,=20
and Incoming connections before this component can be=20
removed". This time I left the window open and I just=20
disconnected ATT, Bingo the QoS window stayed open and I=20
was able to uninstall the component. By clicking okay on=20
the window and then disconnecting was the wrong thing I=20
did, I had to leave warning window open and disconnect=20
and it worked great. Thanks again for all the help you=20
guys are great !!

Well, you showed some resourcefulness. Though the purpose
was to fix your audio lag. Have you tested since uninstalling
QoS to see if it actually solved the problem? Maybe we are
to assume the audio is working ok or you would have
complained that uninstalling QoS didn't fix el problemo?

I'm glad it is working for you! Uninstalling QoS was getting
on thin ice and then I was not sure it would fix your audio
lag if you did uninstall it because you have a dial-up modem.

You must feel very good about fixing your computer problem--
it is pretty easy to get disgusted and give up.

Regards to your persistence,
Stephen
