Screen Resolution Won't Change
Hello,
I have a strange problem with screen resolution. Background: An old machine with a 20gb hard drive has been cloned to a new 80gb partition. After activation with Microsoft and installing every update, the new machine boots fine. Only this video problem. So, here's the problem. We've tried different video cards, as well as the NVidia built in to the new motherboard. They all exhibit the same behavior. When you select a new resolution, windows does not change the screen size or color depth. Its always 640x480, 16 bit color. It looks like its going to change. I see the your desktop settings have been changed message for 15 seconds. I need this machine because we have some programs and data which can not be re-installed. Is there anyway to repair the video in XP. It seems something is corrupt in the windows xp environment. Registry fix, regsvr32, any ideas??? TP |

Tom, what about the Monitor Drivers. Did you move from a CRT to a LCD?
