Default RDP settings missing after updates install

Have 8 years installed Windows7 Home, 64bit and connecting to it via RDP often. Few days a go have
installed some updates and than remote access stop working. When client (mstsc on W10) tries to
connect, ask for credentials, but when credentials are entered and ENTER pressed nothing happens,
only mstsc.exe taskbar icon start flashing. No error message displayed.

Nothing found in server eventlog, in client eventlog found:

A CredSSP authentication to TERMSRV/10.10.10.10 failed to negotiate a common protocol version. The
remote host offered version 2 which is not permitted by Encryption Oracle Remediation.

In Control panel - System properties - Remote access tab - RDP settings missing, only Remote
assistance remain like on this picture

Any ideas?

There is a blog entry.

I guess a blog entry is supposed to make you feel better.

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/...e-remediation/

And a related security bulletin.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...-march-13-2018

"The Encryption Oracle Remediation Group Policy supports the
following three options, which should be applied to clients and servers"

Paul, thanks for reply.

Have read linked secirity bulettin, but downloaded patch gave me message "Thy update is not
applicable to your computer". Also tried gpedit.msc but my system (Windows 7 home premium x64) have
not "Credentials Delegation" section under "Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates -
System" policy path. Than I check registry editor but item "AllowEncryptionOracle" already had value
"2".

Do you have any other recomendation for me?

Thanks a lot, L.

Above, you said:

The remote host offered version 2 which is not permitted by Encryption Oracle Remediation.

So the client has been patched to prevent unsecure RDP connections, but
the server has not been patched. As I see it, your two options a
1. Patch the server, thus closing the security hole. **Recommended**
2. Apply the workaround to the client, thus undoing the purpose of the
patch. (Security risk)

If you Google "Encryption Oracle Remediation" there are pages and pages
of articles talking about options 1 and 2 above. Which of them have you
tried?
