Default Pdf reader that supports XFA forms ??

Hi All,

I have a customer with a Point of Sale software that creates
PDF forms for its reports, etc..

Problem: Acrobat Reader prints streaks instead of text
under Windows Nein, oops, Ten. (Under XP, it works
perfectly.)

So, I installed PDF Studio Reader and it works perfectly
whit the Point of Sale software.

Another problem: the customer has to fill in antiquated
dynamic XFA forms it gets from the government and dynamic
xfa from are not supported by PDF Studio.

Here is a test dynamic XFA form:

https://tax.nv.gov/uploadedFiles/tax...n_07-01-11.pdf

Anyone have a favorite PDF Reader that supports fill in
dynamic XFA forms that is NOT Acrobat Reader?

Many thanks,
-T

Adobe Reader is not an PDF printer. Do you mean your PDF printer is
creating files with streaks, or does a file which is readable in other
PDF readers contain streaks when opened in Adobe Reader?

I meant to say, when it prints, it prints streaks on certain
select forms -- only from this POS program and not all
of its forms.

Also, when it renders to the screen, the forms come out perfectly.

It is only when it prints that the streaks happen and not
on all forms and only from certain forms created by the this
POS program.

And the system persists over three different network printers
from three different vendors (HP, Brother, Xerox), so it ain't
the print drivers.

So when you print from the Adobe reader the hard copy has streaks; but
not when you print the same file from other PDF readers?

Do you have the saltest version of all printer drivers and of the Adobe
Reader?

What is "saltest"? Latest? Yes. Downloaded from the web a week ago

Foxit is sending me the link for the Windows version. Their select an
OS only lets me select Linux 32 and 64 bit. I called their tech support
and they are going to have their web designer fix it.

So hopefully, shortly.

Do you have a sample "Streak" file we can test with ?

Or even a screenshot of a zoomed in print, showing
normal objects (like text) along with a Streak
besides it, with some idea what the Streak would
have looked like if not mis-rendered.

You must have some idea, from the orientation of the
streaks, whether they're regular objects that are corrupted,
whether they're actually intelligent fill-in boxes
that have created a gray field because of a failure.
I'm sure you have a fairly good idea already, what the
streaks are related to, the object type, whether it's
a "plain" PDF problem or a Javascript smartbox or
an XFA feature.

If the platform has an AV, maybe it's interacting with
something executing in the form.

I keep Javascript disabled in my Reader, as I don't want
*anything* executing.

Chuckle. Some of my typos would get me in real trouble,
like Widows for Windows and sh*tdown for shutdown.
