Messenger won't start!
I am having a problem with Windows Messenger and XP
Professional. When I boot up my computer, it refuses to start! I can see it in the task manager msmsgs.exe but the icon in the tray refuses to load up and even when i start it from the start menu. Any help would be appreciated! |

Do you have Norton Antivirus 2003 installed? Norton added a new "instant messaging scanning" feature to Norton Antivirus 2003, which can conflict with Messenger and display this behavior. No I have McAfee Antivirus installed! It eventually
starts up but it takes about 10 minutes! |

Ah -- have you installed DirectX 9?
