Default default directory for wallpaper

When using the control panel to change my theme or wallpaper in XP, my
computer is looking to the My Pictures directory and pulling all those
photos up instead of the default of Windows. How can I change this back?

Store your pictures in a different folder other than "My Pictures"
directory.
