Default HP 5200C Scanjet doesn't seem to work with Windows XP

Hi there,

Since I've installed Windows XP on my computer, my scanner doesn't
seem to work. I've tried it in many different ways.
But even with the last official scanner drives from the HP website, my
scanner refuses to work.

Does anybody know a solution for this problem?
I'm running out of ideas how to solve this, please help me!

Greetings,
Rob

Uninstall the scanner, disconnect the scanner, then reboot.
Install the new HP software and then connect the scanner.

I have HP 5200C Scanjet and it is working perfectly with XP home and SP2.
Rob's suggestion of uninstalling the software and drivers is the right one,
also make sure that there are no leftover folders and registration entries
for the old drivers, then download the last driver+software for the HP
5200C from HP. The file is SJ662EN.exe, dated 25.05.2004,(56,716KB) and has
all the software for the scanner as well as the driver. Assuming you are
using the USB connection, disconnect the scanner, install software and
driver first, and when it tells you, connect the powered scanner into the
usb port, and the installation will complete its cycle.

Regards
Leana
