Drag and View and xp
I recently shifted to xp from win 98se (and MS Office) and installed
Drag and View 4.0 (which I had with 98se). Also shifted from MS Office to open office on a clean install, so there are no MSOffice program files (word, excel etc.). I imported the .doc, .xls files from my old disk to use with open office. Drag and View is used to open files, like doc, txt, jpg, and view them without having to open the native application. It is great for things sent to the desktop for further delivery by email. Sorts them out without having to open the application. Been using it since win 3.0. I am also working with Canyon Software to solve this, but so far, nothing has worked, so like Princess Lea, you're my only hope. I get an error when I try Drag and View, that C;Documents and settings\Gordon Abbot...(there is a small box is right after Abbot) has an "invalid path", and hangs up, and I have to get rid of it with task manager. Canyon Software has had me delete the registry entry for Drag and View, but that only resulted in just the error message coming up and no Drag and View box. If anyone uses the program or has any ideas, any help appreciated. I love Drag and View and would hate to lose it. GA -- My address is spoofed, so do not reply directly. |

Drag and View and xp
Gordon,
Of all this that you wrote, the most important part is where you decided to be, what, shy? See, the history of Drag and View will not help us help you; the EXACT problem, however, would be great, though. Being that the error here is a message concerning the path, having correctly typed it would help. "I recently shifted to xp from win 98se and installed Drag and View 4.0 (which I had with 98se). "C;Documents and settings\Gordon Abbot...(there is a small box is right after Abbot)" seems to have errors which I do not know if they are your typos or if the path actually appears as such. It probably should read: C:\Documents and Settings\Gordon Abbot What EXACTLY follows after Abbot, including spaces, boxes, periods, etc.? By the way, have you tried to uninstall reinstall? I just got it to work yesterday, thanks to Canyon Software. They sent a new DVShell.dll file. Somehow the old one was redirecting DV so it did not work. Nice to have a company stand behind their product, even after six years! Thanks, GA -- My address is spoofed, so do not reply directly. |
