Default Sleep Causes Windows XP To Crash

After reformatting my harddrive and reinstalling Windows XP the "sleep"
button causes the PC to crash. I hit the sleep button and I am informed via
an error message that Windows has encountered an error and must shut down,
then my PC reboots. Any suggestions to correct this and/or identify the
problem? Thanks, Bob

I unistalled and reinstalled the video drivers from the manufacturer's site.
Same issue. The PC will go to the sleep state but when it comes out of
sleep it goes to that blue screeen that informs me Windows has encountered
an error, if this has not happened before reboot... dumping physical
memory..blah blah blah, then the pc reboots.

Ideas?

thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,

Can you send me the dump file? Use the email address used here and a subject
line of "per req" to get past the filters.

Hi,

Usually under C:\Windows\Minidump, grab the most recently dated one (the
date is part of the name of each).

The issue is the PC crashes coming out of sleep, all the power options are
straight forward as you indicated, trying to identify why it crashes.
believe it to be related to the video card, but what do I know, I still am
unable to fix it. All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks, Bob
