It is T3104 Sorry Me I'm sure Dave will be able to trace down the actual web site. The thing is, Emachines has changed hands, so this means it isn't always easy to figure out where the support page has got to. Even if you figure out who owns Emachines now, the support page for the old hardware may no longer be present. You may have added a video card to the box, to replace the lightweight graphics core. You could not game on the Unichrome stuff. Even early "The Simms" would run like molasses. If you stuck a video card in the machine as an upgrade, then you'll need to provide details of what video card is in there. How you can tell this, is look where the monitor cable plugs in. If the monitor cable connects to the I/O plate area, then you're using the S3 UniChrome Pro integrated video. If the monitor cable plugs into the PCI slot area (individual slots on the back of the PC), then you've added a video card to it and need an entirely different driver. You then need to identify the added video card, to find the driver. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883114011 Semprom 3100+ Via K8M800 S3 UniChrome Pro Graphics Interface - Integrated video The Asus A8V-MX would use the same chipset. So you can try either of these links, and get a K8M series VGA driver. So one of these two, could harbor a video driver for the built-in video output. http://support.asus.com/Download.asp...8V-MX&p=1&s=21 http://support.asus.com/Download.asp...8V-MX&p=1&s=20 If you compare the uc03i.inf file from both of the video (VGA) downloads from those pages, the hardware supported is listed as the same. uc03i.inf [VIA.Mfg] "VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP" = viagfx_3204, PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3108 If you open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), on your running WinXP install, do Properties on the existing (VESA driven) graphics, the "Details" : "Hardware Ids" should have matching numbers for the VEN_1106 and DEV_3108. That tells you, you're in the right ballpark for the driver, and can go ahead and install it. ******* I don't see a sound driver here. I just know it uses RealTek AC'97, because it has a RealTek NIC driver, and it would make sense to go RealTek on audio too. But how do I prove that ? https://web.archive.org/web/20110418...1&modelId=1547 The closest I could get, is an Ebay auction page. And we all know how accurate those are. http://www.ebay.com/itm/EMACHINES-T3...-/130495841793 This listing is for a eMachines motherboard P/N: 103534 Audio: AC'97 code 5.1 - Realtek ALC655/658 (dual layout) Now if that's a match, or even if you see a RealTek audio chip in the "audio corner" of the motherboard, then you could use a RealTek AC'97 driver right from the RealTek site. OK, here I see, the 1x3 audio stack, a motherboard mounting hole, and then the tiny square RealTek chip with RealTek "crab" logo. So it's a RealTek, and the AC'97 driver will take care of it. Start here, click the "Accept" tick box. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...tDown=false#AC Windows 98Gold/98se/Me/2000/XP/2003(32/64 bits) for Driver only. A4.06 2008/10/1 18295k Have fun, Paul |

A4.06 2008/10/1 18295k Have fun, Paul You guys sure are a source of info. I really appreciate your time/efforts. I have come up with a satisfactory video driver, but not audio. The video is: VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP video driver for the eMachines K8M-800M motherboard ie VGA_S3_6.14.10.241_XPx86_A Device Manager's 'flag' is resolved. (My video is MOBO, not an added card.) The audio is another matter. The only driver I found that seemed okay, as it resolved Device Manager's 'flag' is for Soundmax SFX, so-called 'T1140_50'. However, I get no sounds, not even for a music CD. Not in Control Panel either. I did all this before I received your responses. I need to read them over now. Thanks again Me |

Or you will have to go to the makers of the chips to get drivers from them. Realtek is the sound chip I have too. AC' 97 drivers. They're easy to find on realtek's site. Bill |
