Default Internet connection stops responding when using MSN Messenger version 6

I have recently downloaded windows messenger version 6 I am having difficulty with video and audio links to my friends computer. I can seem to connect ok but I loose the person I am trying to have a conversation with after a short while. I have noticed th
at my internet connection send and receive bytes information stops and if I try and open my normal internet browser it displays this page cannot be displayed and I have to disconnect and reconnect to the internet again and my home page appears and I can lo
g into messenger and the connection after a while will stop working again why is this happening? I didn't have this problem with version 4.7 it was fine. Can anyone shed some light on this problem or has other people experienced this. Or is there a fault
on my XP windows home edition or is it protocals.

Why install msn messenger at all,it's primarly configured to run in msn
explorer (a dial-up connection). It can run in xp with any other type of
connection, and is suppose to be fully compatable, but the end results usually
are of what you described, problems !!!!
Best bet, uninstall, dwnload new copy of 4.7,a proven winner.
