Windows XP pro, sp1.
While control panel - Administrative Tools - Local security policy, I
tried to select this item and got the following error message:

Snap-in not created, may not be installed properly.
Name: Group Policy
CLISD {a silly number goes here}

What do I do?

Thanks,
Rob

Check your Temp cariables and folders are where you expect them to be. =
Also check the path. LSP uses the temp folder unlike most snapins.

I found the problem. I used Reg Organizer 2.2 to clean "unused" stuff
from my registry. I suspected it may have been somewhat overzealous. I
undid that operation and then I was able to edit my security policy.
The snap-in was able to snap, I guess.

Thanks for trying.

If you are attempting to saves changes for the group policy (as Admin) and
get an error message the the changes can't be sved to the database, what can
be done?

XP Pro

Thanks,
Pat
