Attaching pictures to Folders

I have attached pictures to folder icons. I have about 50 folders displaying
pictures in a directory. Sometimes when I go into the folder and then come
out the picture has changed and i keep having to change it back, with this
many folders its a pain. Is there a fix or anything for this ?
