Default Stop dialing when I logoff of PC2

I have XP Professional on PC1 with shared internet connection on 56k dial up
modem. Have XP Home on PC2. Use Ethernet 10/100 connected to Linkseys hub
to share files.

When ever I log off of the 2nd PC (the one that connects to internet thru
PC1) it causes PC1 to dial and logon to internet.

Why does this do this cause PC1 to dial and how can I stop it? I only have
Office installed and MSN Messenger on both PCs. Office XP is installed on
PC1 and Office 2000 on PC2.

I do want MSN Messenger to autolog onto internet, but not when I am trying
to log off and shut down the PCs.

I have static IP set on both PCs.

Lori,

You can't be logged in with one and the same MSN Messenger account
simultaneously. .NET Messenger Service automatically signs off the connected
account when it's trying to log in again, be it from the same computer or
somewhere else. So when you log off/signed off the second machine, the first
one tries to sign on because it sets this way.
If you really need MSN Messenger you can disable auto sign on PC1.

I didn't think of that--it makes sense. At least I know the PC's are
working correctly.

Thanks!
