Default Static DNS addresses Automatically Changes

I have an NT server based network all updated and about 50/50 XP/2000
Workstations. I use DHCP to obtain an IP address and use static DNS addresses
on each machine to access the internet... The problem is randomly the Static
DNS Addresses are changed. It only happen occasionally and it only happens on
random machines(both 2000 and XP) I have ran hijackthis and can not see
anything that should not be there. Once I re-enter the right addresses it
seems to not have anymore issues. If anyone has any idea what is going on
here I would apprieciate it

Thank You!

I don't know the answer to this, but I have a few questions:

1) When the error occours, what does an
IPCONFIG /ALL on the faulty machine show?

Is the IP address still correct?
What DNS address is listed?
Do you recognise the rogue DNS server address?
Is it always the same wrong address?
Is the DHCP server listed the one you expect?

What I'm getting at is:
Is there a possibility there is a rogue DHCP server on the
network, issuing incorrect DNS information?

2) Why not simplify things by having DHCP issue the DNS setting too.
