Default XP SP2 WIFI connection issues

Hello,

I have an IBM A series laptop with XP SP2 installed as the OS. The WIFI card
I am using is a Linksys WPC11 v3.
Ever since I installed SP2 (about two months ago) the wireless connectivity
has been extremely unstable. The icon in the tray typically says that I am
connected to an access point but when I open a browser session or try to ping
a website, I cannot resolve an address.... It only resolves an address about
2 percent of the time.

The WIFI connectivity worked perfectly with SP1.

I went to Linksys' site to look for an updated driver and the most recent
was 5/2003.

Is anyone aware of WIFI issues between the Linksys WPC11 and SP2?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
