Default windows messenger

I have windows xp home with sp2, I am unable to send or recieve files with
windows messenger, even if I turn firewalls off. Any suggestions!!!

You probably cannot send files because the person you are sending to also use
Firewall that blocks receiving files,such as Windows Firewall in XP SP2
And also the persona you are sending may reject the files.
Also you may download the newwest version of Windows Messenger(5) on the
Microsoft Web-Site.
On the Search type Windows Messenger
