Default Messenger Issues

Hello, a friend and I use messenger 7.5 and I sometimes use remote assistance
to help him with his computer problems... Now, he was having a problem with
an older version of messenger sometimes loading at the same time as 7.5, so I
found an uninstall program and we both used it to uninstall messenger. We
then downloaded 7.5 and we're able to connect again together, we can webcam,
voice chat, etc, but when we try to use remote assistance, it gives us(on
both ends) a message that Messenger is not installed and a link to the 7.5
download site... Now we both use 7.5 and everything works but the Remote
Assistance... I've looked on my XP CD for the option of reinstalling the
Messenger component, but it just says add a Shortcut to Messenger from the
programs folder(or desktop, can't remember) and doesn't reinstall the root
Messener that we both deleted... Any ideas on how we can fix this? At this
point we're just trying to get back to where we were before deleting the
older version of Messenger... Thank you
