Default Out of Office note displaying to my colleagues

I have Windows messenger, but the rest of my group has MSN Messenger.
Apparently, my Outlook talked to my Messenger when I was out for a few days
and posted a little clickable note next to my name. (I can't see it, but the
others do.) I can find no way to clear the little note. Any help will be a
lot more than I have now!
