Default Video problems.

I was recently told in a previous post that I had to update my video drivers.
My video card is Radeon 9600 from ATI. I went to the ATI website, proceeded
through the whole process of preparing for new drivers. When I finally go to
install my new drivers, I am stuck with this message: ATI CIM Application
Launcher Module has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience.

AppName: setup.exe AppVer: 6.14.10.1005 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0013fcaf

I have no clue why it is doing that and it seems like no matter how many
times I reboot and retry the installation, I am stuck with that message.

Again, any help would be appreciated on this problem. It kind of sucks not
being able to really do anything on this computer except to look for possible
solutions to this issue.

Thanks for your reply...

Followed everything step-by-step on the ATI website, even printed out the
directions so I could look at them while I tried reinstalling it. I still
received that message "ATI CIM Application Launcher Module has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

So I tried starting from fresh; uninstalled everything that appeared from
ATI again from the download, rebooted, and tried reinstalling it but I still
get the same message. On top of that, when I now reboot I get a message
about "Found New Hardware", but it won't tell me what device it just says
"Unknown." I have no clue what to do and I'm just about at wit's end
figuring this out.

Any help would be appreciated and I thank you for your time in reading this.

Have you tried contacting ATI Support?
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...asp?deptID=894
I have no experience with this site but
it appears that you first register your
product and then you can call an 800#
for tech help.

Or...maybe it's time to seek the services
of a computer repair shop.

Good luck.
