Access denied to second hard disk and Norton GoBack
I have 2 hard disks on my system. To improve response time and clean the
system, I decided to clean it and start anew. So, I have formatted and reinstalled XP on my first hard disk (c. But now, I cannot access the data on my second hard disk (d. The bios sees the disk, with the right size (160 Go). The system sees the single partition that is on the second disk in the disk management application (name, type, size, status, free space...). But I am only allowed to reformat it, but then I would loose all my data. Windows Explorer does not show the disk (D and thus I cannot access the data and the source files for the programs I need to complete my installation. Before I reinstalled XP, Norton Systemworks - GoBack - was installed on the system. Now, I have read somewhere on the net that having a partition ( or disk) protected by Norton could cause such a problem. Is that true ? If so, is there any solution to access the data on the second disk? Guy |

Access denied to second hard disk and Norton GoBack
I had already looked at that thread, but it is not the same problem. I think my title is misleading. I don't have the message "Access Denied" as you did. It is just that I cannot read the files that are on my second disk. More exactly, I want a confirmation about my hypothesis that this problem is caused by Norton GoBack and, if so, what is the solution to that. Maybe I should re-post my question with a more suitable title. Thank you for your answer, Kirk. Guy "W. Kirk Crawford" a écrit dans le message de news: ...
