Quadrider, Try this
If you have Zone alarm as your firewall uninstall it and then change your home page . Then reinstall Zone alarm . The new version of ZA causes this to happen.

My Home page was hijacked during a session with Verizon when all security
measures were turned off. I have tried System Restore but it didn't work. How
do I get back control. In non-techy language please.

BTW Windows Defender says my computer is running normally.

You might try...

I.E. | Tools | Internet Options | Programs | Reset Web Settings | "Also my
home page". May work for you.

That one didn't work! Now what do you mean by "Also my home page?"

By the way "Reset Web Settings" only reset the page to the one that is the
intruder.

You should tic the box that says "Also reset my home page". If you didn't do
that it would never work.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose default
install is loaded with malware. See also:
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=27971
Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along.
