Default How to get rid of hard to eliminate virus

I think I have a stubborn virus that I can't get rid of. When I try to open certain specific internet pages I get the error message that explorer has encountered a problem and must shut down, do I want to send and error report. I can access these same pa
ges from another computer but I always get this error message from my computer. I have Mcafee antivirus and I have run a scan from Trendmicro Housecall which eliminated many viruses but didn't correct this problem. I also have Spyhunter which has elimina
ted alot of malware. Any ideas?

damage is still there just like after a tornado is gone.

Check for damaged and missing system files:
Start/Run
Type "sfc /scannow" ENTER
Have Windows XP CD available.

To help prevent this in the futu

After following Mr. Jones' sage advice, I'd also suggest downloading and
running RegCleaner from:

You might think of doing a clean install. This is a 100% guarantee
solution. In less than 1 hour you have a clean lean machine. And how
much time have you wasted already? :-)
