Default Video Adapter

I just barely reinstalled windows xp on my laptop. Everything is working
fine except for one thing. When I scroll down websites it goes very slow and
is actually laggy. Or when try to install this one disc called Microsoft
Plus! that was on my pc before, a message pops up that says somewhere in it:
video adapter with 16 MB Video memory is required to run some of the programs
you are about to install. I am perplexed because the display worked fine
before i reinstalled windows XP. Maybe it is running the wrong video adapter?
I dunno. Please help!

=================================
Maybe you need to update your video driver.
Try going to the support website of your video
adapter's mfg. and search for an updated driver.
