Default Pictures, files and music invalid/corrupted after SP2 update

I have a Dell Dimension XP Pro 2002. It came with sp1 and IE6. After the
sp2 update and getting IE7, all of my files, pictures and music are either
corrupted or no longer valid. How do I fix this? I have asked in other
forums and searched in Microsoft.com and online. I do not want to delete
everything! I am also afraid now to download new pictures or music for them
to be bad also. Please help!

What message(s) or exact errors prove that to be,try R.clicking one, select
properties..IE7 & XP SP2 will/should have no effect on any of those items,
try opening event viewer, see what the system is doing with errors/warnings...
