There is a user's manual for your all-in-one here

That being said, I don't think you can use it for e-mail. Do you perhaps
mean sending a fax?

To send e-mail, you need a modem or a broadband connection. the modem,
often with fax functionality, connects to a standard analog Telco line.
Broadband typically uses either an ADSL or cable connection.

Don't know about the Dell, but HP did have a business class laser
printer/fax/copier combo several years back that had a builtin email server.
Seems it could take a scanned document and email it, or capture a Fax and
Email it. The problem was detecting who the fax was supposed to go to.
