FIle on Descktop have disappeared.
Recently changed from single to multiple users.
I also selected to have files password protected. The files that were in folders on the desktop now can not be found, even in the 'all users' directory. Help Anyone. |

The files that were in folders on the desktop now can not be found, even
in the 'all users' directory. Did you use Search to locate them ? Also, I read that it is not the Desktop's job to be a documents storage area. Once the "missing" files and folders are found, place them in My Documents folder (on C drive), then create shortcuts on Desktop to most frequently used items. Malv "MJS" wrote in message ... I have searched for the files and have not found them. I have logged in under
every username to run the search without success. "Malvern" wrote: The files that were in folders on the desktop now can not be found, even in the 'all users' directory. Not in Recycle Bin... Ouch ! Call this a lesson learned hardly Gordon
and I agree; that was NOT the place to save 'em. An MVP I ain't. So only idea I have is persist with Search, even using *.doc, *.avi, *.(other extension) which will generate HUGE lists. Look to see if anything is not where it belongs. "lost" items may yet show up. Good luck, Malv "MJS" wrote in message ... I have searched for the files and have not found them.
