Default Print Spooler (I can't print!)

My print spooler will not run I keep getting errors. I have tried the steps
on the Microsoft website
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;324757 which did not
get me any further than I am now. If anyone can help me with this that would
be great! Thanks!

What happens when you try to start the spooler...

http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article_Nine.htm

If there is an error message after running net start spooler, what is the
exact text of it?

I restart the spooler service my printer then shows back up in printers and
faxes folder. It stays there for about 3-5 min then I get an error or
several errors telling me that the print spooler service is not running.
After a few of those errors I get a few more that say Spooler Sub Sys has
encountered a problem and needs to close. I have tried printing documents
after restarting the service and they fail to print mainly after I get all
the errors. After I get the errors I go back into the services to see if it
is still running and ofcourse it isn't running. If you need any other
information that might help figure this out please let me know. Thank you
for your time!

When was:

The last time you ran a full antivirus scan with updated signatures?
The last time you ran a full antispyware scan with updated signatures?
The last time you ran a Disk Cleanup and deleted all your temporary files?

I am trying to install a Canon MP 600 printer with the CD and I am unable to
start the print spooler so the installation stops. When I issued the command
at the command prompt: "net start spooler," I got the error message "The
system cannot find the file specified."

Am I missing the spoolsv.exe file? Where can I get this file and why am I
missing it? Is the file located in an incorrect area and the system cannot
find it?

I am just a home user so any help would be great!

As I metioned in my first thread I tried the steps on that website. I will
try and go through them again Cari. If that does or doesn't work I will let
you know. Thanks so much for the help!

in a cmd window change to the temp directory, then type

ntsd -z spoolsv.exe.hdmp

type k when you get to the prompt NN
k

you will get the stack trace for the failure

look for the driver name in the stack trace.
