Can I delete these files?
I'm running Windows XP Prof, SP2.
In my windows directory there is a sub-directory called: C:\Windows\$hf_mig$. In this directory are a bunch of folders with the titles KB8733339 all the way up to KB932168. I know these are the windows updates. Do I need to keep the or can I delete them as The computer works fine. Even if I do at some later date reinstall windows they will be gone anyway and I will have to reinstall them. If I delete them will that also remove them from windows? Thanks for your help. Regards, |

Can I delete these files?
Hello,
If the system has been working properly after the updates, you can delete the hot fix backup files as well as the add/remove registry entries by using the utility at this page http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_hotfix_backup.htm (it is free, but does not allow you to select which updates to remove) -- Singapore Website Design http://www.bootstrike.com/Webdesign/ Singapore Web Hosting http://www.bootstrike.com/WinXP/faq.html Windows XP FAQ "Bullwinkle" wrote in message ...
