Fax addressbook from Outlook Contacts uses first name filing order
Using Windows Fax for XP SP2 and configuring the Addressbook to use Outlook
contacts- I find the search order for names is "FirstName LastName" instead of the logical "LastName, FirstName". This is despite the fact that in Outlook, Contacts are filed as "LastName, FirstName". Is there somewhere I can select the search order for the addressbook dialogue box in the fax program? Thanks, |

Yes. Depends on your Outlook version which you neglected to post.

Fax addressbook from Outlook Contacts uses first name filing o
Yes is great - Outlook Std Ed 2003. How is it done?
BTW I did look at the Outlook contacts view and changed the 'File As' option to "LastName, FirstName". However it does not carry this filing order over to the Windows Fax. Thanks- "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Yes. Depends on your Outlook version which you neglected to post. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Hank2020" wrote in message ... Moreover, the settings you changed only apply to new Contacts, not existing
ones. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Hank2020" wrote in message ... Yes is great - Outlook Std Ed 2003. How is it done? Thanks! Not only did it fix the sort order for new contacts, but it
'repaired' all existing too. Now the Windows Fax address book looks/ sorts them all in the same (Last, First) order. Good news indeed!!
