Windows Installer Window Problem
I am using Windows XP, SP3 and WMP 11. Everything is up to date with the
most recent updates. Every time I start Windows, the Windows Installer box pops up saying "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable". I have to click on cancel numerous times to cancel before it goes away. This also happens when I start WMP but goes away if I close WMP. If I want to view a video file, this is annoying and I have to click multiple times to get rid of it. I don't have any programs waiting to be installed, as far as I know and can't find anything listed either in start-up or services. I have run both my virus and spyware programs several times. The only thing the trojan checker came up with is: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\opnmMdAQ I hesitate to delete this since I don't know what it is and can't find any reference to it anywhere. I don't know what else to check and would appreciate any suggestions. I can't find this problem listed on the Microsoft website. Help please! |
