Default Buy an XP SP3 CD?

MS folks,

I have a dialup connection and I not about to tie up the
phone line all night to download SP3. Odds of a successful
download are not too good anyway in view of my noisey phone
line.

Is there any way to buy an SP3 CD from Microsoft?

Thanks for listening.

I don't think there is a CD available from MS at this time.
But if you have friend with a high speed connection he or she can download
and create a CD.

(You or your friend must have CD burning software that can use an ISO as
source)

The jist of the above article is:
quote
In the past Microsoft has made actual physical CDs available for service
packs. There is a rumor - and I must stress it's only a rumor - that
they don't plan to for SP3. If that's their plan, I personally expect
them to change their minds after some amount of consumer backlash. As
you've pointed out, downloading SP3 over a dialup connection is a
problem; a big problem.
quote

You're guess is as good as others. If you have a friend with
Hi-speed, just have them download it, burn a CD and mail / give it to you.

The information on this Microsoft web site seems to indicate that Service Pack 3
can now be ordered on CD.

Windows XP Service Pack 3
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/w...7c953a761.aspx

If you scroll down to where it says Order the Windows XP Service Pack 3 CD and
click on North America, you're taken to this page.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 CD
https://om2.one.microsoft.com/opa/Va...caleCode=en-us

I don't need a CD so I can't give you any feedback on ordering or how long it
will take to arrive.

Good luck

Hi Shenan Stanley,

Internet Explorer 7 cannot dispay the webpage for North America link
posted below.
When copying the link and pasting into FireFox 3.0 RC1, I got this
error:
Connection Interrupted

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please
try again.

Looks like the order web pages are actually having issues...

See:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/w...7c953a761.aspx

Underneath "Get Windows XP Service Pack 3" and "Non-subscribers:" (Last
bullet before the next section...)

.. Order the Windows XP Service Pack 3 CD: Asia | Europe and Africa | North
America | South America

Looks like those links have issues right now... I'd go with Firefox's
message of:
"The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments." and change a "a few moments" to "a day or so." ;-)

I tested this link last night (after my first post) and it does/did work
then.
So it looks like (although I did not complete the order process) you can
order a SP3 CD from MS.

Hi All,

Tested in both Browsers today around 10:54 AM EDT and works in both
today.

I don't need the CD as Windows XP Service Pack 3 is already installed.
