How do you suggest we discovery exactly which "balloon pop-ups" you're
talking about?

Sorry, I am still getting used to XP.

If I haven't read all my email, I keep getting
balloons telling me about three or four of them
and keeps telling me every few minutes.

I am using Thunderbird.

Perhaps there is a setting in Thunderbird to disable email notification. I
would not know because I use OE.

If you have a question about Thunderbird you're asking in the wrong
place. The only e-mail application native to Windows XP is Outlook
Express, which does not present balloon pop-ups.

Then it's not a Windows XP issue, it's a Thunderbird issue. I know
nothing about Thunderbird. Look in its Help file or ask in a
Thunderbird forum.
