Running Defrag
You can't. Under normal conditions, that is.
"Although any user can gain access to the Disk Defragmenter tool, the ability to analyze or defragment a volume requires administrator privileges." http://support.microsoft.com/kb/305781 http://support.microsoft.com/default...b/231176/en-us You can do a runas as mentioned on one of the KBs above. Or if you don't want to expose the admin account to the user, create a wrapper for runas to execute the defragmentation. Tools like AutoIT should be able to accomplish this "wrapping" task. -- Salvador Manaois III MCSE MCSA CEH MCITP | Enterprise/Server Admin Bytes & Badz : http://badzmanaois.blogspot.com "Scott Rowe" wrote: Howdy, How can I give rights to a user to run defrag without giving admin rights.
