Windows Firewall-Can't Turn On
Today I had to reinstall XP. After running Updates and installing Svc Pk 2,
my firewall is turning itself off. When I try to turn on I get a message "Windows Firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing Service?" I click YES and get -- Windows cannot start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing Service? HELP -- I am on DSL, which is working. I don't understand what this means. I have tried using Help & Support, but can't get any answers. Thanks, Michelle |

Windows Firewall-Can't Turn On
Nass,
I have tried both of your suggestions (Run Command & the Firewall.reg) and restarted after each. The Firewall is on when it first starts but turns itself off. I have read the other links you sent and tried those but still the same thing. Any other suggestions? Michelle "nass" wrote: Try the Reg file then read on the links for more help!
