Default Substitute for Word in Office 365

I'd like to set up a "link" so that whenever I click on (or a program
calls) Office 365 Word, Libreoffice Swriter is invoked instead.

How would I do that?

Thanks.

Microsoft put in some provisions to stop bulk changes to
file associations. At one time, things like media players
could steal 30 or 40 associations at one time, wreaking
havoc on the computer. Using the GUI, as suggested here,
is the "recommended" method for changing the association.

https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/quest...in-windows-10/

They're protected by a hash now, so only if a program
knows the "method" can it override what the system has
decided to use. Someone figured out the hash (but did not
document all of it, because they could be charged under
DMCA if they did). There is an application that can
set the association directly. This works out the hash
and loads the registry key using the apparent method.

SetUserFTA.exe get # shows the names of the
# current applications, long
# strings of numbers for Metro
# LO should have a "dot name".

SetUserFTA.exe get C:\users\username\Downloads\origassoc.txt # Save these!!!

SetUserFTA.exe .pdf AcroExch.Document.DC # Now, make up an assignment.

That's a method which avoids using the GUI.
You still have to verify that the method "took" OK.
