not getting red to print

I am creating a document in word using Office XP Standard
and cannot get the red font to print red; it prints
pink. I bought a new color print cartridge and still no
change. Can anyone tell me what is going on and how to
correct? Thanks

What make and model of printer? Have you run a maintenance/cleaning cycle?

Does it print red in other applications (like perhaps printing an image from
Paint or other graphics program)?
