Default HELP! can't get to the web

Home XP. We have 5 windows users, but as of yesterday
only one of
us can access the internet. The one that can is an
administrator and has access in both IE and Netscape. The
other 4 get a 'file can't be found' notice. Some of the
other 4 may also be administrators(?). We recently
cleared out a bunch of spyware (Ad destroyer, virtual
bouncer, and a search toolbar) using Spybot. The same
thing occurs in both IE and Netscape. Symantic & Spybot
show I'm clean. Why why why?

I did see one Rundll error, but it has not reappeared and
I have no idea if it is crelated.

RUNDLL
An exception has occurred while trying to
run "C:\WINDOWS/system32/msg121.cyp.dll",UMonitor"

Default HELP! can't get to the web

The error is probably part of the spyware you removed but probably not what
is keeping you from connecting.

What happens if you type "ipconfig /renew" at a command prompt.

Thanks for your kind reply...

I get a message that reads: "No operation can be
performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media
disconnected"

Are the lights on your NIC lit? Since you lost all these machines at once I
wonder if they are hook up to the same hub and if something has gone wrong
there.
