Administrator account
Is there a difference between the Administrator (with administrator
privileges) account and a user given administrator privileges? The reason I ask is that on several occasions I've seen fellow employees who could not open modify the device manager. They got a message that they need to be the administrator. But they had administrator privileges for their machine. When they log in with the user ID of administrator then they can change/see the device manager seetings. Does this make sense to anyone?? |

It could be that they also have User privileges too and that anyone under User may be prevented from accessing this snap-in. Try going into the User Management snap-in (LUsrMgr.MSC) and check each user to see if they are a part of both 'Users' and 'Administrators'. If so, remove 'Users' from each account OR all desired accounts from the 'Users' group. -= VbN =- |
